The main purpose of this research is to understand the management of circuses in Brazil. Interviews and questionnaires were applied to circus owners and artists, and the data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The results show that the organizational structure and practices of education for circus skills are important for the preservation of the artistic content of the circus, even when changes are needed in the organization, despite its traditional or not traditional singularities. t was found that despite the existing laws and policies in Brazil, the circus remains "alive" mainly due to its relatively simple management by the family groups and the circus artists. Finally, it is important to shift the center of discussions on management towards peripheral organizations, such as the circus, in the creative economy context to make it an effective field of work for professionals in management and accounting.Downloads
