Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze
theories of international management
centered on modernity and postmodernity
as an expression of corresponding
organizational theories. Starting from the
rationality of modern organization elements,
it advances the organizational analysis in
more complex and uncertain environments
in the context of economic globalization
processes which fi nally lead to profound
cultural transformations which affect the
local managerial practices of organizations
operating in the international realm. It
has adopted a critical and inquiry position
of managerial theories based on western
epistemology which have sense in the no
western context such as postmodernism
which still is examining the rest of the world
in western terms.
